I'm Dave, and this is the photo I’d like used for my obituary.
I'm a writer from Northern Ireland who writes for stage, screen and page. I write for both children and adults, and some of my work has been broadcast around the world in languages I don't even speak, which means I finally have an excuse for not understanding a word I've written either. I also make videos, draw and generally exist.
I wrote 4 episodes of Joe & Jack, an animated show for pre-schoolers which was broadcast on RTÉ in Ireland and in various other countries; ‘Costume Drama’, a Halloween-themed comedy short for BBC Writersroom’s Fright Shorts series, broadcast on BBC iPlayer; DEATH (on a shoestring), a musical comedy play performed in the Baby Grand at the Grand Opera House Belfast as part of the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's in 2012; Gordon Osràm’s Funeral, a 2016 immersive play and interactive gallery exhibition and its precursor Intervention, a dark comedic play performed at the MAC, Belfast as part of the 2012 Pick 'n' Mix Theatre Festival; and Happy as Larry, a short film about the happiest man in the world; and I also contributed sketches to Soft Border Patrol, a BBC Northern Ireland part-improvised comedy.
I graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a Masters in Creative Writing.
